New album: Eades || Final Sirens Call

The sound of a band growing into themselves

After their year-end list-worthy debut Delusion Spree (2022), Leeds quintet Eades return with their second full-length, Final Sirens Call. Where the first record thrived on punchy energy and youthful restlessness, this new one feels like a band growing into themselves—still buzzing with necessity, but more orchestral and expansive. The title track is almost a baroque pop opera, driven by piano and climaxing in saxophone, and lead single Did You Read the News? builds a wall of sound, layered with vintage reverb and powerful sing-along harmonies.

The eleven songs take a brave but confident step forward, with interplay that is as sharp as the observational storytelling. They are partly understated and partly rocking, partly intimate and partly big—often within the same tune—as if they already were made for packed stadiums. There are too many highlights to share below, but the title of Madness, Pride & Poetry pretty much sums up what it’s all about. Ambition and melody go hand in hand here.

Final Sirens Call is out now digitally, on CD and vinyl LP, through Breakfast Records.
