French garage pop outfit BOPS—Germain Cozic-Bop (vocals, guitar, bass), Louis Cozic-Bop (vocals, bass, piano, keyboards), Oscar Cozic-Bop (drums, vocals, percussion), along with their comrade-in-sound Tom Beaudouin (keyboards, guitar, piano, vocals)—return with PANIC, their third and most striking album to date. The ten new songs throw themselves headlong into something raw, free, and immediate: you’ll hear guitars rattling, an upright piano humming, drums grooving, and ideas colliding at breakneck pace, with hints of wiry funk and warped psychedelia. Lyrically, BOPS take aim at social dysfunction and existential dread, but they do so with a grin—the pop hooks of opening track On The Sofa (“la la la”) as most compelling example.

This is a record about modern chaos, but one that never loses its sense of melody or mischief—a snapshot of a band embracing the mess of the moment, a pulse-quickening document of creative freedom.
