Lachie Hayes is a Southland-born musician who has been traveling throughout New Zealand for years—both solo and in bands—to broaden and hone his craft. This is evident on his first full-length album, Subsatellite, the long-awaited follow-up to his 2017 EP, Where the Shadows Hang. In eleven rich and diverse songs, he fuses soulful alt-country with rhythmic blues and smoky pub rock, driven by evocative storytelling, inspired guitar licks, a grooving rhythm section, and magnetic vocals, wrapped in a warm and authentic sound.
Subsatellite, produced by Delaney Davidson, is out now digitally and on vinyl LP through MASSAV Records.
