Another Yellow World is the first new album of original Lemons material in over a decade, but the recipe has not changed. The colorful goofballs make lo-fi lemonade out of jangly guitars, tambourines, and harmonies so sugary you’ll get a cavity. The fourteen fresh tracks are poppy, sloppy, chirpy, and weirdly addictive—lyrically there is a bit more gravitas, but these are still happy tunes for beach days and snack breaks. Quirky yes, but also catchy and secretly clever (and yellow, quite yellow). It’s over before you know it, so enjoy it while you can.
Another Yellow World is out now digitally (self-released). Featuring Jonathan Lemman aka John Lemon (guitar, vocals), Curtis Tart (guitar, vocals), Kimber Slick (bass, vocals), Kel Lililimin (tambourine, vocals), Didi Lemoni (flute, omnichord, vocals), “Bud Boy” Bobby Dour (guitar, organ), and James E. Jams (drums, vocals), with an array of friends as guest musicians.
