Finally! New music from one of the top performers in contemporary Ramonescore! Philadelphia’s Dark Thoughts released a trilogy of stylistically and quality-consistent records in the past decade—their self-titled debut (2016), At Work (2018), and Must Be Nice (2020)—but a new full-length has been long in the wait. It’s coming though, and to tease it, Dark Thoughts just dropped a four-song promo EP featuring three songs from the yet-to-be-officially-announced Highway to the End LP.

Slept til 2 opens the EP and it’s a 50-second reminder of everything that is great about Dark Thoughts. Super fast, tight, and catchy pop punk that wastes no time in making a mark. So Alone continues that path, while Bubble’s Gonna Burst is classic Ramones worship. Speaking of that band, the final song on the EP is the band’s cover of What’s Your Game (previously released on Drunk Dials’ Stay Home comp).
