New album: Tom Henry || Songs to Sing and Dance To

Vintage vibes and fresh energy collide on standout debut LP

Chicago-born/Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Tom Henry—aka Big Star Tom, a name that sets expectations, expectations that are met—makes his full-length debut with Songs to Sing and Dance To. To be a little more precise: these are twelve original power pop songs with a 70s feel, and strong dashes of psych, folk, rock, and pop, richly orchestrated with attractive vocals, jangly guitars, an uplifting organ, and more where needed—for fans of Big Star, The Byrds, The Raspberries, The Beatles, and even Dire Straits (Art House has a similar vibe to Walk Of Life). This is an album made to move you, with hook-laden anthems that meet emotional climax, classic sounds with a modern pulse, strong in both melody and melancholy. In short:: entertaining, versatile, and energetic.

Songs to Sing and Dance To—produced by Kai Slater, mixed and mastered by Jonny Bell—is out now digitally, on CD and vinyl LP, through Royal Oakie Records.
