Let me introduce you to Gods of the Sun, a genre-transcending alt-rock project by autodidactic composer/guitarist/singer Francesco Binanti, born and raised on the seaside of Southern Italy but currently based in the French alps of Grenoble. The five tracks that make up his debut EP God is on Parade were created in his recording studio over there, a location that he says had a major influence on his sound.

It was a no-brainer to add this one to our Favorite Cover Art Gallery, and as you can see (and hear), it is also worth sharing musically. Expect a high-energy guitar-driven sound where heavy riffs and powerful vocals merge with garage, blues, funk, stoner, and symphonic elements—like Danko Jones meets Pink Floyd—masterfully orchestrated. The songs are born from the desire to escape stagnation, pushing creative boundaries, and giving a voice to inner conflicts; you’ll hear lyrics on fear of judgment, the desire of stepping away from predefined courses, and static existences (“I don’t need morning light // Buy my pride”—from closing track I Gotta Tell You What’s Right). Breaking free through music, mission accomplished.
