Fake Jr. is a new indie rock/power pop project from Raleigh, North Carolina-based singer-songwriter Kevin Murphy (Seabreeze Diner, Kit McKay, Matt Southern & Lost Gold). His debut EP Wildflower Blooms collects the first three singles plus a strong brand new track from which the release takes its title, one to sing along to: “Wildflower blooms // I don’t need to settle scores // I got nothing left here / / Let me do you one better.” All four are powerful tunes full of hooks, convincing in both attitude and performance. We hear “This super bloom // Can’t come too soon // ‘Cause I know // They’ll welcome us back” and can only conclude that this certainly applies to us.
Wildflower Blooms, produced with Marc Kuzio (Ghostt Bllonde) and Chris Powers ((Spit Curls)), is out now digitally via Honeyguide Collective. Featuring Kevin Murphy (guitar, lead vocals, background vocals), Ian Romano (drums), Chris Powers (bass), Marc Kuzio (backing vocals) and MJ Burns (backing vocals).
