New single: Mooon || Hurtin’ My Heart b/w How I Learned (To Say Goodbye)

Mooon is a Dutch garage psych band, featuring brothers Tom (bass, vocals) and Gijs de Jong (drums, vocals, keys, percussion), and their cousin Timo van Lierop (guitars, vocals, percussion), more than ten years into their career. Seeing and hearing them is experiencing the 60s, the heyday of colorful Nederbeat and psychedelic pop, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. A few months ago they released their third, fine LP III (Excelsior Recordings), which they now follow up with a new 45. The A-side is a mono mix of Hurtin’ My Heart, one of the standout tracks from that album, with irresistible organ melodies, exciting drum rolls and enchanting vocal harmonies. The flipside, an unreleased song from the same session called How I Learned (To Say Goodbye), can compete with this, thanks to jangly guitars and Beatle-like vocals, erupting towards the end. This is what vintage perfection sounds like.

Hurtin’ My Heart b/w How I Learned (To Say Goodbye) is out now digitally and on 7″ vinyl through Soundflat Records.
