In these ominous times, Lancashire Bombers are needed more than ever. From the 1-2-3 count off in the title track, with which Brett Bolton (vocals, guitar), Pete Lay (lead guitar, vocals) and new band members Parsley (bass, vocals) and Rudie (drums, vocals) start their sophomore album, it’s clear that they are serious about convincing the world of their motto “No Fun No Sun.” The four bombers drop twelve original tunes, only one of which exceeds the three-minute mark, an explosive cocktail of garage rock with rhythm ‘n’ beat and power pop. The lyrics are anything but war language (“Redhead girl, won’t you dance for me?”), but musically it’s loud and thunderous, and above all quite a lot of fun.
