Galaxie is a long-term project of prolific Canadian multi-instrumentalist/producer Olivier Langevin, and À demain peut-être is their sixth album since 2002. I guess we’ll have to file it under electro rock, but it’s safe to say that the emphasis is on the rock part (you could argue to call it punk funk, with the focus on fun). The thirteen songs here are diverse, exuberant and energetic, packed with frantic grooves, a fuzzy sound, and colorful lyrics in French (“Agonie ecstasy pour déjeuner” – from opening track Anomie). Guitars and synths fight for priority, the listener emerges as the winner.
À demain peut-être is out now digitally, on CD and vinyl LP through Lazy At Work.
