New band alert! Meet Big Cry Country, a four-piece ensemble hailing from D.C. and New York. They’ve just released their debut EP, titled Living Conditions, a collection of songs that reflect the turmoil and anxiety stemming from shifting living situations and relationships, a period of personal upheaval for the band’s singer Roxanne.
Given this emotional backdrop, don’t be surprised to find dark undertones and angsty energy in the five songs on Living Conditions. Nevertheless, at its core, this EP exudes a radiant indie punk spirit that is full of sparks. Much like that Bat Boy LP I shared today, Big Cry Country melds nostalgia for indie punk icons of yesteryears with contemporary influences.
Keep this band on your radar, because they are definitely onto something.
