Spanish garage rock trio Los Mutagénicos celebrate their 15th anniversary with an inspired fourth full-length album, called El Cuarto. Alfredo “Roto” (guitar, vocals, theremin), Pablo Magariños (drums, percussion, vocals) and Santi “Pequeño” (bass, backing vocals), joined by Miguel Aguas (synthesizers, percussion, backing vocals), bring us nine new floor fillers, after which they leave atmospherically with a ‘hidden’ cover of the Trailer Park Boys theme*. The lyrics are imaginative and humorous, but you don’t need to understand the language to be entertained by this delicious surfy rock ‘n’ roll full of hooks and catchy melodies.
