The Growers is a home recording project by Steven Boyle (Pleasant Hill, California). I wrote about his five-years-in-the-making self-titled album previously. Boyle took less time for the follow-up, the four song North-Facing Wall EP. The art work has a haunting quality. Boyle found the picture on an undeveloped roll of 620 film (circa 1960’s) inside a camera in his grandmother’s attic. Musically, the new EP by The Growers is less eery and more of the midpaced scrappy punk rock with an emotional edge that first caught my ears in Boyle’s music. I am liking this A LOT!
