New album: Pale Puma || Haunted By Dreams That Were Never My Own

Initially, Pale Puma was a solo project by Amsterdam-based singer/songwriter/guitarist Django Duijns, but with a full band line-up – Rosie Derksen (lead guitar, backing vocals), Remy de Kok (bass) and Roemer Vermeulen (drums) – he has now released the album Haunted By Dreams That Were Never My Own, which is just as beautiful in terms of music as its title. You get eleven dreamy, atmospheric and melancholic pop noir songs about staying true to who you are, reportedly inspired by Nick Drake (lead single and opening track Lost In Pink Moon is a direct reference), among others. Expect a sound somewhere between the mesmerizing alternative rock of The War On Drugs, the hazy shoegaze of Beach Fossils and the jangly indie pop of Felt. Bring on autumn.

Haunted By Dreams That Were Never My Own, produced by Marien Dorleijn & Frans Hagenaars, is out now on CD and vinyl LP through Excelsior Recordings.
