New album: Popes Of Chillitown || Take A Picture

This one is for the restless, for the adventurers. UK ska/punk collective Popes Of Chillitown return with their fourth studio album, Take A Picture, featuring fifteen exuberant and exciting new tracks. Genres, ideas, tempo changes and emotions follow each other so quickly that it’s hard to keep up. While the energetic musicians switch between punk rock and ska, they also manage to incorporate metal, hip-hop, dub, reggae and drum & bass influences. Not everyone can handle that much eclecticism, but before you realize that a moment is not up your alley, the music has already taken a turn in the right direction. It’s wonderful that all that variation still leads to coherent songs, which are quite cleverly put together in terms of both lyrics and arrangements. This record is an adventure that exhausts you, but it’s well worth it.

Take A Picture, produced/mixed by Jack Ashley, is out now digitally, on CD and vinyl LP through Criminal Records.
