New album: Screamin’ Witch Doctors || Back from Transylvania

Spanish garage rock outfit Screamin’ Witch Doctors debuted 15 years ago with a call to ritual dancing, and for a moment we feared they’d gone astray. But now it becomes clear where Urban von Ripper (vocals), Johannes Winter (keyboards, backing vocals), Goyo W. Elvyra (guitar, backing vocals) and Pable Tombstone (drums) were hiding: they were looking for inspiration in Transylvania, the Romanian region that we know from Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Anyway, it led to a colorful collection of 11 new songs (including a cover of The Turtles’ Glitter and Gold), exciting and magical but never dark. This is swampy garage rock ‘n’ roll, powerful and compelling, that makes you imagine that it must have been a special journey.

Back from Transylvania is out now digitally and on vinyl LP through Family Spree Recordings.
