Japanese garage rockers The Routes made waves in 2022 with their successful Kraftwerk covers on The Twang Machine LP, but they’re ending the year in style by releasing two more albums. On Lead Lined Clouds (Soundflat) you’ll hear ten 60s garage-psych originals including vocals, but here I want to share the thirteen new instrumentals from Get Past Go! (Otitis) with you. Chris Jack (guitar, organ, bass, percussion) and Bryan Styles (drums, percussion) not only prove to have mastered the surf rock idiom to perfection, but they once again show that they have truly fresh and innovative melodies up their sleeves. This is as exciting as it gets.
