New album: Holm || Why Don’t You Dance

Mikkel Holm Silkjær, who you may know as frontman of Danish indie rock combo Yung, has released his long-awaited debut LP as Holm. The album title is derived from Raymond Carver’s Why Don’t You Dance?, a tale of a man apparently selling off his life’s possessions in his front yard. The short story was a lightbulb moment for the musician, allowing him to better understand his own songs and feelings. Why Don’t You Dance, a product of three years of writing, is a diverse and intense record, featuring 10 guitar-driven tracks with personal and honest lyrics. In any case, check out the standout track K’s Choice (it’s not about the Belgian band of that name), which will grab you by the throat, but actually the whole album is worth listening to.

Why Don’t You Dance is out now digitally and on vinyl LP via PNKSLM Recordings.
