New EP: Madra Salach || It’s a Hell of an Age

Intimate storytelling wrapped in harmonium hum and mandolin bite

Irish alternative-folk outfit Madra Salach has been conquering Europe in recent months with fascinating live shows, moving audiences to goosebumps or tears. Now they’re releasing their debut 12″ EP, It’s a Hell of an Age, featuring five songs—almost 28 minutes in total—that are sure to sell out their upcoming shows as well.

Whether it’s the three originals or the two covers (Michael Considine’s Spancil Hill and Mick Curry’s Murphy Can Never Go Home), the Dublin six-piece twist Irish tradition into something urgent, personal, and alive, with understated instrumentation framing Paul Banks’ deeply human storytelling, which cuts through your soul and locks you into a hypnotic trance. Timeless and emotional, this music doesn’t just nod to the past, it pulls it firmly into the present—loudly and softly.

It’s a Hell of an Age is out now on 12″ vinyl (self-released).
