The Oxys return with Casting Pearls Before Swine, their third LP and fiercest outing yet. Released via Cleopatra Records, the album channels the band’s love for gutter-born punk rock into eleven tracks that bristle with menace and swagger. The guitar lines rip like barbed wire while singer Phil Davis howls stories of obsession, addiction, and bad romance—songs like Poison Apple and Toe Tag Lovers land somewhere between true crime and personal confessional. Elsewhere, Idiot Box rails against screen addiction, Eaten Alive conjures grindhouse horror, and Drop of Blood proves the band can make morbidity sound anthemic.
Where 2023’s Generation Irrelevant felt like a resurrection (Davis literally came back from the death right for recording the record), Casting Pearls Before Swine sounds like a band thriving at full force. The Oxys are veterans who know exactly how to twist darkness into catchy, dangerous rock’n’roll.
