Punk in Brest refuses to die. Venues have been shut down, public spaces heavily policed, bars pressured into silence, and access to neighborhood halls restricted—all of it enough to drain even the most committed organizers. But instead of giving in, the local collective Petit Tonnerre has rallied twenty local punk bands for a defiant double LP, Quelques coups d’éclat.

Recorded at Studio Épicericords in Hanvec, the compilation spans familiar names (Syndrome 81, Le Mamooth, Litovsk) alongside new blood like Bemnoz, CasseDalle, and Vomito Repulsivo. The result: twenty unreleased tracks that confirm Brest’s underground is alive, loud, and unwilling to fade quietly. I knew Brest harbored some quality punk bands, but the sheer breadth here is a revelation. This is a scene that deserves an ecosystem that allows them to fully thrive.
