The boys from Riverdawg—Reed Heath, Jonathan Harden, Tommy Fairbairn, John Evans, Andrew Chegash, Matthew Kierski, Cole Covington—are a well-kept secret, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that changes soon. Three More Words is their first full-length album, one that reveals more with every listen. The seven songs were build and refined over the past five years, and the result is captivating and intriguing—not overdone or polished, but well-conceived and well-produced. Expect garage rock with a pop feel (or indie pop with a raw edge), excelling in bewitching melodies, rich arrangements, and distinctive vocals. Spoken interactions between the band members contribute to a spontaneous vibe. If you don’t have time for the full 24 minutes, at least listen to standout tracks Thank You Notes and Kingston.
