New EP: Eternal Wave || Inner Light

A calm sea turns into a wild storm

Just a few months after their amazing Love in Your Mind single, Californian surf-rock quartet Eternal Wave returns with the Inner Light EP. Opening track Hippie Summer is a laid-back garage-pop burner (featuring golden doo-wop harmonies), followed by jazz influences in The Vagabond (reminiscent of Corduroy), and the captivating ballad Steppin’ on the Sun (over 5 minutes long, like the first track). As if it wasn’t already unambiguous that we’re dealing with a versatile band here, they close with angry punk on I Just Wanna Surf (“I don’t wanna do my job // I don’t wanna go to work”). Somehow, it all works.

Inner Light, produced, mixed, and mastered by Wesley Birch, is out digitally (self-released). Featuring Jack Corliss (keys, vocals), Justinas Memenas: guitar), Jordan Russo (bass), and Ethan Slaman (drums).
