After a decade of radio silence, Providence, Rhode Island-based surf punk trio Atlantic Thrills returns with their unpolished third full-length album, simply titled III, but ominously depicted as a three-eyed leopard in the cover art. Dan Tanner (guitar, vocals), Eric Aguiar (bass, vocals), and Mark “Ref” Ferrara (drums) channel the chaotic electricity of their live sets into a record that sounds like it’s being performed in your living room. A little less summery surf and a little more dirty 70s punk, the eleven new songs are lean, loud, and laser-focused, including ragged riffs and catchy woo-hoo gang vocals. A fun time assured, but complaining neighbors in 3, 2, 1…
