Magnitudo is the debut full-length from Percossa Fossile, an Italian progressive rock trio featuring Axel Franco (bass, vocals), Pietro Salmaso (guitar, backing vocals), and Mattia Gobbo (drums, backing vocals). The ten original songs here—partly instrumental—are heavy and dynamic, in their own words with “mind-blowing hallucinations” as lyrics and “polyrhythms, free improvisation, massive distortion, and punk/prog drifts” in music, “just like a psychic journey with no destination.”
It’s a complex and unpredictable album that crosses genres—prog, psych, metal, post-punk, garage rock, rap—with inimitable riffs and runaway drums full of grand gestures. A raw, unruly descent into controlled disorder.
