Welcome to Bubblegum Punk University, where “You’re gonna have fun at Downstrokes 101” and “They couldn’t care less about your SATs — play three chords and you’ll get your degree.” Brazil’s The Yodees have clearly been doing their homework since their super fun Comic Books LP back in 2022. On their third album, they don’t stray far from their signature sound — but they do sound sharper, tighter, and even more confident in their songwriting.

This is classic pop punk that won’t give you goosebumps, but will definitely put a big grin on your face. The Yodees kick things off with their own chant-along theme song (“Y. O. D., double E., S., Let’s go!”) before the school bell rings to start the title track — a clear nod to Huntingtons’ High School Rock. And of course, no pop punk album is complete without its share of broken hearts and unrequited crushes. The Yodees might not be kids anymore, but they capture youthful emotions with ease, channeling that forever-young spirit. In a cynical world dulled by routine, they offer an anthem for anyone who still believes in love, melody, and staying emotionally alive: “I’ll be forever young in heart, I’ll love, I’ll cry, I’ll sing.”
