Estonia-born/Portugal-based composer/multi-instrumentalist/producer Misha Panfilov continues to expand his musical spectrum with his garage psych project Penza Penza. Last year’s fantastic Alto E Primitivo LP was an unstoppable rock fest dominated by heavy grooves, his new full-length Hang Loose! I Got Dem Ol’ Surfer Bloos… has a more relaxed vibe.

The twelve new songs are basically instrumental surf rock tunes, but not as you know them—the musician can’t help but conjure up other Stompin & Motorik’n influences from his backpack of experience. It results in a unique and captivating sound—rich, cinematic, and exotic—with original and inimitable guitar melodies. Cool stuff for hot summers.
