Here’s a split single that’s a must if you like your music punchy, lo-fi, and ridiculously catchy. The ever-prolific Sex Mex—who I always imagine wielding a drum machine in one hand and a chainsaw guitar in the other—teamed up with the equally talented Keddies Resort for this one. As far as I know, it’s digital-only, which is a shame because it deserves a physical release.

Sex Mex contributes the synth-punk ripper Sadie, easily one of his best recent songs yet, and that’s saying something given his relentless output—seriously, check out his Bandcamp. He’s releasing music at a pace that puts us bloggers to shame. I may not cover every release, but I’m definitely listening and loving it.

Keddies Resort counters with Medical Love, an absolutely fantastic garage pop-punk banger. Written and recorded in less than a day—with lyrics scribbled while waiting in line at a pharmacy—it’s proof that when inspiration strikes, you just roll with it.
