New album: Shybits || What’s That?

Three continents unite for fuzzy pop fun

Here’s a geographical puzzle: take a Brit, an Italian, and a South African, plant them in Berlin’s musical soil, and somehow they sprout California sunshine. That’s Shybits for you, and their new album What’s That? is exactly the kind of refreshing contradiction we love in indie rock. The multinational trio has crafted a collection of fuzzy, hook-laden tunes that sound like they were conceived on a sun-drenched beach rather than in Berlin’s urban landscape. There are more than a couple of ’90s college radio hits on this one, like the title track, Stupid Kiss and my personal favorite Endless Game.

LP should be shipping soon from Berlin-based Anomic Records.
