New single: Vanity Box || Strange Man / Eurydice Says

Strong debut that has everything it takes to become a hit

Look what I found in the “new arrivals” bin of Bandcamp’s indie rock section. It’s Vanity Box, a new noise pop quartet from Groningen, the Netherlands, featuring Hugo Heinen, Yorick Karseboom, Julia Bekker and Sybolt Friso. As a taster for their debut album Good Luck, See You Friday (February 7, 2025), you can now listen to their appealing double debut single Strange Man b/w Eurydice Says. It’s two times three minutes with layers of guitars, attractive haunting vocals and motivational lyrics (no, it’s not about the US elections), with a fuzzy sound inspired by the 90s, ragged but rich—certainly the A side has all the makings of a big hit.

Strange Man b/w Eurydice Says, recorded by Harmen Ridderbos, is out now digitally trough Zeevonk Records.
