New album: Thee Braindrops || Wild Life

Spanish-Japanese combo's sophomore LP keeps the garage punk flame burning

Twelve new songs that are raw and raucous, then you can conclude that Wild Life is a fitting title for the sophomore full-length of the Spanish-Japanese rock ‘n’ rollers of Thee Braindrops, which comes four years after their I Need Action LP. Their cover of The Third Bardo’s 1967 classic I’m Five Years Ahead Of My Time takes center stage on the album, and that’s a good representation of what this band stands for. Though the heyday of garage rock is far behind them, they’re still fighting to keep the genre alive and kicking—with a sound that’s as sleazy as it is urgent.

Wild Life, produced by Santiago Sacristán, is out now digitally and on vinyl LP through Folc Records. Cover art by by Mik Baro.
