Over three years ago, we raved about the eponymous debut EP by French four-piece Food Fight, of which a re-recorded version of opening track Shenanigans now returns on their long-awaited first full-length, titled Zeitgeist Impressions. Adrien Daniel (vocals), Jérémy Guézennec (guitar), Antoine Hue (bass) and Nicolas Mangin (drums), veterans of the Rennes scene (Headliners, Abuse, Ready-Mades, Cheap Riot, …), have mastered a catchy mix of power pop and punk rock, inspired by the sound of the late 70s (most reminiscent of The Clash). In addition to a cover of The Night (Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons), we get eleven hook-filled and energetic originals, a total of 33 minutes of unbridled joy.
Zeitgeist Impressions, recorded by Lionel Cadiou and with nice cover art by Patrice Poch, is out now digitally, on CD and vinyl LP, through Juvenile Delinquent, POCH Records and Roaring Blood Records.
