In the last century, Seattle’s Fastbacks rose to legendary status in the punk rock scene. As if nothing has changed, founding members Kim Warnick, Lulu Gargiulo, Kurt Bloch and longtime drummer Mike “Muzz” Musburger return with their first new album in twenty-five years. It’s aptly titled For WHAT Reason!, because why not when playing still is fun? The four survivors deliver eleven poppy tunes in which they have changed little to their success formula with only the effective basic ingredients, because why should they if this is what we fans love? It’s never too late for more energetic riffs and catchy harmony choruses on a high-energy drum backbone, with hook-laden melodies and a spontaneous feel, done by authentic enthusiasts.
