Seattle four-piece Soft Boiled bursts onto the scene with their debut EP Slice Of Life, now available on cassette and CD through Den Tapes. Despite their name, Soft Boiled is far from an egg punk band. Instead, their seven-song EP navigates a sweet spot between indie punk and indie pop – think Seattle’s answer to Durham’s Martha, and you are not that far off.
The majority of tracks on Slice Of Life are upbeat, vibrant, and punchy, showcasing the band’s energetic side. However, with songs like Heroine and Manic Pixie Dream Girl, Soft Boiled demonstrates their ability to captivate even when they dial down the intensity.
