With their mantra of “hastily made music for hastily made people,” Eye Ball are tailor-made for our TikTok brains. So let’s keep this short, shall we? The band’s debut album Gull Songs is set to drop later this year (exact date TBA), and it’ll feature at least one of the four tracks they’ve unleashed in the past month. In the meantime, Noise Merchant Records has compiled these four tunes onto a cassette – or possibly two, if the Bandcamp pics are anything to go by.

While Noise Merchant bills this as egg punk, it’s more like punk rock with a robot’s heartbeat. Kick You and L.I.S.T.E.N. are the standouts for me. Kick You in particular is one of those tracks that gets me giddy with excitement – it’s like stumbling upon a lost gem from the Marked Men’s early days.

Now, we probably shouldn’t set our expectations too high, considering this band seemingly materialized out of thin air just a couple weeks ago. But let’s be real – we’re already itching to hear that Gull Songs album. How about you?
