New album: The Lostines || Meet The Lostines

Meet The Lostines — here’s the full-length debut album from The Lostines, an invitation to enter the world of the indie folk band* of New Orleans-based songwriters Camille Wind Weatherford (vocals, guitar), Casey Jane Reece-Kaigler (vocals, guitar, percussion). They fuse old-school country with vintage doo-wop, pair melancholic melodies with angelic vocal harmonies, and translate it all into a contemporary girl-group sound — rich and addictive. Thematically it’s about old relationships and new beginnings, perfectly fitting with the beautiful music, for example strongly expressed in standout track Neon Lights: “I knew your soul long ago // Life times ago before you met me // It seems that we’ve been skipping like stones for eternity.” Many of the eleven songs take place at night, yet a sun-kissed feeling prevails.

Meet The Lostines, co-produced by Ross Farbe, Sam Doores, and The Lostines, is out now digitally, and on cassette, CD and vinyl LP, through Gar Hole Records. *Also featuring Ross Farbe (guitars, bass, drums, percussion), Sam Doores (drums, percussion, keys, guitars, harmonies), Howe Pearson (bass, drums, guitar, tubular bells, harmonies), Gina Leslie (bass, harmonies) and James Wallace (keys, guitar). And Kelli Jones (fiddle), Joel Savoy (fiddle), John James (lap steel), Jordan Odom (guitar), Casey McAllister (keys), Peter J. Bowling (viola), Thomas Bowling (violin), Sam Hollier (cello) and Sam Gelband (vocals) guest on selected tracks.
