Leipzig trio Velcros seem unwilling to box themselves into a single genre on their debut LP Strange News From The Vault. Alternative rock, punk rock, fuzzy indie rock, shoegazy altpop, it’s a little bit of everything really.
The downside is that you may not like each and every song on this record. Indeed, each subsequent song is like a surprise with unknown outcome. Yet, despite the potential disarray, the album remarkably holds together. It helps that these dudes are a talented bunch, and I find myself liking most of these tunes, being particularly fond of the songs I share below.
