Muncie-born/Minneapolis-based novelist Dan Hornsby is the author of books such as Sucker and Via Negativa, but he also appears to have a knack for songs. He shows it nine times on My Lost Decade, his debut album under the moniker of True Green. Expect bedroom pop that’s lo-fi and wobbly – fans of Mac DeMarco, Kurt Vile and Silver Jews should certainly take a bite of this – where the lyrics naturally steal the show. For example, listen to Comeback Special, about a waiter who thinks he’s the reincarnation of Elvis Presley, and you know what I mean.
