New EP: Brad Marino || Ramones & Stones

My previous post on Brad Marino’s short format Ramones & Stones release was premature. Back then, I thought it to be a two song digital only release featuring a major hit in the title track with lyrics that read like a one-page critique on who’s who in rock-‘n’-roll, and a rerecorded version of Dame Darcy that was originally released by Marino’s past band Rydells.

Fast forward six months or so, and Ramones & Stones has become a 5-song EP that is out now for pre-order as a 7″ single at Ghost Highway. In addition to the two previous songs the 7″ contains three more nuggets of Marino’s trademark sound – albeit more in line with his Basement Beat record than his most recent Grin And Bear It LP. Few artist can rival Marino when it comes to writing authentic ramonescore tunes, and this EP is all hits. I am particularly fond of Theodora, a song sure to make Marino’s Greatest Hits LP one day.
