New album: Sullen Eyes || Hardwood Floors And A Hand To Hold

In early 2021, American twee pop outfit Sullen Eyes released their self-titled debut EP, digital only at the time (we previously referenced it in our Dusted feature). Sunday Records gives the first four tracks of that EP a well-deserved new life: together with four new songs, they can now also be admired on CD and vinyl. The band, named after a gem from Sarah Records legends the Sea Urchins, has now grown from a trio to a five-piece, but the fresh tunes carry the same uptempo energy and melancholic feeling as the earlier work. That makes this Hardwood Floors And A Hand To Hold compilation an enjoyable listen. Sublime guitar melodies, crisp vocals and a clear production – this is first-class jangle pop.

Hardwood Floors And A Hand To Hold is out now digitally, on CD and vinyl LP through Sunday Records.
