New album: The Belair Lip Bombs || Lush Life

Have you heard of The Belair Lip Bombs yet? It’s a cool band from Melbourne, Australia, featuring Maisie Everett (vocals, guitars, keys), Mike Bradvica (guitars), Jimmy Droughton (bass) and Liam De Bruin (drums), and they just released their full-length debut album Lush Life (recorded, mixed and mastered by Nao Anzai, who also collaborated with favorite artists such as Floodlights and The Teskey Brothers). You get ten dynamic and energetic guitar-driven songs on the cutting edge of alternative rock, post-punk and indie pop. “I wanna live in the lush life way” sings Maisie Everett (formerly in CLAMM) with her amazing voice in the infectious opening tune Say My Name, and “Take me to the lush life” in the closing track Suck It In – the central theme here is a picture perfect world where everything is easy, which of course doesn’t actually exist, as the frontwoman explains in Backseat Mafia’s track-by-track guide. The music of The Belair Lip Bombs sounds as eager as it is hit-sensitive, you’ll undoubtedly encounter their name much more often.

Lush Life, produced by Nao Anzai & The Belair Lip Bombs, is out now digitally and on vinyl LP through Cousin Will Records.
