New album: Andy Frasco & the U.N. || L’Optimist

During live shows, Andy Frasco and his friends pull out all the stops to keep the audience entertained, and that attitude is reflected in their new full-length album L’Optimist. Once on board, you’ll be served ten songs that are colorful, uplifting and positive, offering a melting pot of genres and a wealth of ideas, with Don’t Worry Be Happy vibes on the surface but a deeper meaning underneath. The frontman explains: “I fight depression every single day, and the only way for me to fight depression is through optimism. I try to write optimistic songs because optimism keeps me going.” The eclectic and energetic music (Beck would be proud of it) plus the personal and empowering lyrics (vulnerability, party urge and life advice go together inimitably) makes this an intriguing record, which undoubtedly comes across even better on stage.

L’Optimist is out now on CD and vinyl LP through Fun Machine Records / Soundly Music.
