Remember Rum Bar’s wonderful 2021 XOXOXO Volume One compilation? For many, that will have been the introduction to The Lemon Drop Gang, although the supergroup from the Arizona desert had been active for some time. Steph O’Halloran (vocals) and Johnny O’Halloran (guitars , back-up vocals), with Danny Walker (bass, back-up vocals), Lucas Moseley (drums on side A) and Matt Rendon (keys, back-up vocals and drums on side AA), just released the Johnny Is A Jerk EP, that is pretty awesome both musically and in terms of cover art (by James Young). You can safely add the two new songs – I’m Done b/w Johnny Is A Jerk – to your cool garage rock playlist (you’ll also hear influences from 60s girl groups and 70s power pop, to increase the fun even further). They are energetic, catchy and danceable, just the way we love them. Hits.
