Summers are for holidays and punk rock. Well, today is a good day because we are premiering the new LP by self-proclaimed vacation rockers SPELLS! The Denver (Colorado) five-piece will release their new odds-and-ends LP Loose Change, Vol. 2 this Thursday, but we are giving you the chance to spend some time with it before it becomes readily available – find the music at the bottom of the post.
Loose Change, Vol. 2 celebrates the 10th year anniversary of SPELLS. It marks the second time SPELLS compiles songs that have gone out of print or were only released digitally (Vol. 1 was released 5 years ago). Plenty of songs on Vol. 2 have not been pressed on vinyl before, and each of the tracks has been remastered. SPELLS is one of those bands I hope to experience live someday. Not just because they seem like genuinely nice people, but mostly because their songs are sending so many good time vibes. For now, this new compilation provides a convenient way to experience the fun, spontaneous, and communal chaos of SPELLS. The LP looks great too and will be available on two color variants: “Dolphin” crystal clear/solid blue vinyl and “Dracula” transparent red/black vinyl.
