New EP: Perfectly Lethal || Session 2

Despite their pedigree of having played in bands like Dan Webb and the Spiders, Bedroom Eyes, Luau, Sneeze and Get Laid, Perfectly Lethal from Boston are still one of the best kept secrets in underground rock music – if this is the first time you hear of the band, make sure to check their demo tape and previous EP. They have a new three-song EP out featuring a blend of indie rock and power pop that would have been huge on college radio in a different era. Basically, they sound like an ’80s punk band branching out to a broader and wider sound. What I love most about the band is the purity of their songs. Listen to Pissing In The Wind for example. It sounds like the band is just bashin’ out the song in full for the first time, recording it live in their practice room, satisfied with the first take, because additional recordings would only hurt the freshness of a song that they are confident will turn out awesome anyway. Like on all of their music, the band does not hold back at any point, sing and play like they mean it. But honestly, all three songs on Session 2 are a blast to listen to!

Labels should take note, Perfectly Lethal is extremely open to compile their various recordings into a full length vinyl release.
