I think there were no shortage of red lights in the recording of Killer Kin, the debut LP of Killer Kin. This stuff is LOUD! And WILD as well. Killer Kin (Connecticut) was founded by Mattie Lea and Chloe Rose, who claim to be descendants of Arthur “Killer” Kane of The New York Dolls. Hence the band name, hence the dirty rock’n’roll sound. Killer Kane sounds louder and faster though, with a hardrock edge as well. Hints of The Stooges and The Cramps? Check.
Killer Kin seems catapulted straight from the ’70s to shake things up. They have the looks and sound to do exactly that. Killer Kin is out now on CD and LP through Dead Beat Records. The limited edition vinyl variant looks particularly appealing.
