Rochester, New York garage rock four-piece The Low Spirits debuted a year and a half ago with their mono 45 Gonna Make You Cry b/w Shadows Of Your Mind, which they’re now following up with a new single that’s just as fun. I think it’s safe to say that Michael Maier, Richie DeJohn, Ryan Moore and Zachary Koch are following in the footsteps of bands like The Seeds, The Chesterfield Kings and Mystic Braves (with a touch of Rolling Stones swagger and Allah-Las surf), and they do it pretty well. Both A-side Outta Sight and B-side Evil Eye wouldn’t look out of place if a new Nuggets compilation were put together. From the raw vocals and the swinging rhythm & beat to the delicious guitar and organ melodies, everything here is equally inviting.
