New album: Knuckle || Life’s A Bench, Then They Put Your Name On It

UK garage blues trio Knuckle return with a new full-length, titled Life’s A Bench, Then They Put Your Name On It. In their van, Ben Wallbanks, Rob Crisp and Jonny Firth listen to artists like Rory Gallagher, The Raconteurs, Cream, Har Mar Superstar, The Beatles, Ty Segall, Led Zeppelin and White Denim, and that actually gives a pretty good idea of what to expect here. The 13 songs tackle dark themes – they are at their best when pain echoes in the vocals – without feeling very heavy handed, and hope for better times seems to be looming on the horizon. This is a versatile and powerful record that you shouldn’t necessarily try to understand, but immerse yourself in at loud volume, after which it will be unclear whether tears or sweat drip from your face.

Life’s A Bench, Then They Put Your Name On It is out now digitally and on limited edition vinyl LP through Philophobia Music.
