New album: Tommy Alexander || Feelings

Nashville, Tennessee singer-songwriter Tommy Alexander has released his new (third) full-length album, called Feelings. You’ll hear nine alternative folk songs that sound as good as it gets – thanks to a band of session musicians including Chris Scruggs, Jo Schornikow, Megan Coleman, “Little” Jack Lawrence, Billy Contreras and Dillon Watson. In the musical spectrum, the tracks shuffle back and forth somewhere between Okkervil River, Bright Eyes and Johnny Paycheck. The lyrics are personal, emotional and slightly dark: “Instead of living a lie I was just dying inside // I’ve been burdened by a promise and to realize // If life is your only ride you best get on it // Until the truth comes out in the simplest ways // Tossing and your turning twisting night into day // Each moment become undone like a simple warning” (from Blues). Delivered in this beautiful way, Tommy Alexander’s feelings are universally appealing.

Feelings, produced by Andrija Tokic, is out now digitally, on CD and vinyl LP through Fluff and Gravy Records.
